The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) is a four-year program with a major in Bible and Theology. Graduates from this degree are qualified to enter the Seminary pastoral program.  Historically, this has been the preparatory degree for pastors currently serving churches around the world. Students can choose to minor in either Intercultural Studies or Pastoral Ministry.

Program Objectives:

The student completing a Bachelor of Theology degree should:

  1. Have gained an appreciation for and confidence in the Bible as the Word of God.
  2. Have a good working knowledge of the English Old Testament and the Greek New Testament, while demonstrating the ability to apply sound and consistent principles of interpretation.
  3. Be able to articulate and communicate a relevant message of Scripture in a variety of settings, 
  4. e.g., preaching, teaching, and counselling.
  5. Be able to recruit and train workers for local church ministry.
  6. Be able to evangelize the lost and train others in evangelism.
  7. Be prepared to enter graduate level education.

Pastoral Ministry

Program Objectives

The Pastoral minor in the Bachelor of Theology degree program is designed to train students for full-time vocational ministry. Graduates of this program should:

  1. Have a strong biblical and theological foundation.
  2. Have a working knowledge of the Biblical languages.
  3. Have an understanding of the challenges and rewards of pastoral ministry.
  4. Have worked under supervision in a church setting.
  5. Be an effective servant leader.
  6. Be able to work well with a variety of people.
  7. Be able to communicate God’s Word to others accurately, efficiently, and in a variety of    settings.

Intercultural Studies Minor

Program Objectives

The student completing the Bachelor of Theology - Intercultural Studies minor will be able to:

  1. Understand a biblical theology of God’s mission in the world.
  2. Trace the hand of God at work in history.
  3. Identify the redemptive purposes and acts of God at work in the world today.
  4. Plot a course for personal participation in God’s plan for the nations.
  5. Understand and be able to anticipate the stress factors & success indicators of doing ministry in a new culture.

While enrolled in this program, students are expected to:

  1. Develop increasing self-discipline, focus, and a deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ.
  2. Pursue an internship in a cross-cultural setting.
  3. Expand their awareness of global events.
