General Track
Competencies
Upon completion of the Master of Divinity, General Track, graduates should:
Be able to explain the biblical storyline.
Be able to use the biblical languages responsibly in the process of interpreting the Bible.
Be able to interpret accurately the meaning and significance of the biblical text.
Be able to communicate effectively the message and relevance of the biblical text to diverse audiences.
Be able to interpret the cultural context in which they live so as to relate the message of the Bible to that context in an appropriate way
Be actively involved in spiritual formation on both individual and corporate levels.
Possess a competent overview of theology from biblical, historical, and systematic perspectives.
Be able to engage issues (including moral issues) from a theological perspective.
Understand the church as a spiritual organism and an organization.
