General Track

Competencies

Upon completion of the Master of Divinity, General Track, graduates should:

• Be able to explain the biblical storyline.
• Be able to use the biblical languages responsibly in the process of interpreting the Bible.
• Be able to interpret accurately the meaning and significance of the biblical text.
• Be able to communicate effectively the message and relevance of the biblical text to diverse audiences.
• Be able to interpret the cultural context in which they live so as to relate the message of the Bible to that context in an appropriate way
• Be actively involved in spiritual formation on both individual and corporate levels.
• Possess a competent overview of theology from biblical, historical, and systematic perspectives.
• Be able to engage issues (including moral issues) from a theological perspective.
• Understand the church as a spiritual organism and an organization.
