The Intercultural Track of the Master of Divinity program, given in conjunction with Cross-Training Toronto’s Certificate in Mission, is designed to prepare students for professional missional ministry in Canada or internationally. The curriculum prepares godly missionaries by developing their leadership skills and spiritual gifts to evangelize, instruct, and serve those outside and inside the Church, regardless of their context.

Upon completion of the Master of Divinity, Intercultural Track, graduates should:

  • Be able to use the biblical languages responsibly in the process of interpreting the Bible.
  • Be able to interpret accurately the meaning and significance of the biblical text.
  • Be able to communicate effectively the message and relevance of the biblical text to diverse audiences.
  • Be able to interpret the culture and ethnic context in which they are situated so as to relate the message of the Bible to that context in an appropriate way.
  • Be actively involved in the evangelism of those outside of the body of Christ.
  • Be actively involved in spiritual formation on both individual and corporate levels.
  • Possess a competent overview of theology from biblical, historical, and systematic perspectives.
  • Be able to engage issues (of all kinds) from a theological perspective.
  • Understand the church as a spiritual organism and an organization.
  • Possess a clear understanding of the mission of the church (and its component members) to fulfill the Great Commission by “reaching and teaching.”
  • Be able to lead or help in the planting of churches in diverse cultural or ethnic situations.
